Emergency First Aid at Work - 6 Hours
This course is suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments, such as small offices. The course covers first aid protocols for adult casualties only.
Course content includes -
- Conducting primary/secondary survey
- Conscious Casualty
- Unresponsive Casualty
- Adult resuscitation (CPR)
- Burns and scalds
- Choking adult
- Communication and casualty care
- Defibrillator prompts and how to respond (theory based)
- Defibrillator pad placement (theory based)
- Minor and severe bleeding
- Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)
- Seizures
- Shock
- Unresponsive adult
Basic Life Support - 4 Hours
The BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver effective CPR and provide early use of an AED
Course content includes -
- Conducting a primary survey
- How to recognize cardiac arrest
- How to alert emergency services
- How to administer effective CPR
- How to find an AED
- First Aid for the choking adult
- Recovery position
